Tribute

Up until December 12 2020, Dr Ijeoma Idaresit served as a Trustee at the Iwe League.

Dr Ijeoma Idaresit was bold. She was not afraid to dream of a better world. She was not afraid to throw herself into something new if she believed it could make a difference to people. She did not hesitate or waiver about what to do when she became part of Iwe league. She hit the ground running after our first meeting and was unswerving in her commitment to our vision.

Dr Ijeoma Idaresit was a visionary. She could see a bountiful harvest in the seed of an idea. She was willing to start small and systematically challenge us to do more with what money, time and resources we had available.

Dr Ijeoma Idaresit was authentic. You met her once, and she radiated goodness, character, and integrity. There was no guile in her. She was candid in her opinions but so loving that you knew she spoke from the right heart. She was not afraid to change her mind if she could see your proposition was worth trying.

Dr Ijeoma Idaresit was selfless. She gave all her heart, mind and time to make sure our Iwe league scholars were cared for and provided with a holistic educational experience. She was never too busy to think about how we could do things better for them, to talk about how to do it, and then to do it.

Dr Ijeoma Idaresit is irreplaceable. With Dr Ijeoma Idaresit in your corner, you did not need a back-up plan. Her love was sincere, her faith a compass, her pursuit of excellence was relentless, her diligence was inspiring and Dr Ijeoma Idaresit changed the world for us and for our scholars.

There are no words to express the depth of loss we feel. You brought stability to Iwe league and we are blessed to have had you shape our vision in the way you did. Dr Ijeoma Idaresit we miss you. Your footsteps remain on the sands of time.
